Emily Pilloton is an editor, writer, designer, and humanitarian design entrepreneur/nomad “based” in San Francisco. Trained in architecture with degrees from UC Berkeley and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she started Project H Design as a means to encourage more socially-conscious design initiatives within the product design industry. She has written for print and online publications including GOOD Magazine, ID, and ReadyMade, and is the former Managing Editor of www.Inhabitat.com. She has also taught design theory in Chicago, worked as both an environmental and furniture designer, and lectures internationally about design activism and humanitarian product design. When she isn’t traveling or emailing, Emily enjoys baking cupcakes and playing trivia board games.
